Statement of Beliefs
God
We believe God is the creator of the heavens and the earth. He is the beginning and the end. Holy and loving in all His ways. He exists in three persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
Genesis 1:1; Matthew 28:19
Jesus
We believe Jesus is the Son of God. Jesus Christ is both God and man, He is the only One who can reconcile us to God. He lived a sinless life, died on the cross in our place, and rose again to prove His victory and empower us for life.
Matthew 1:22-23
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and Son. He is our advocate, comforter, helper. He gives us power to live in our every day.
John 14:16-17; 16:7-13
The Bible
We believe Gods word, the Bible is the inspired word of God. It is accurate, complete, without error, and applicable for everyday life.
2 Timothy 3:16
Humans
We believe God LOVES all people. People are made in His image. We were created by Him and for Him! Although there is enormous potential for good, all humans are stained by an attitude of disobedience toward God called “sin”. Sin separates us from a loving God.
Romans 3:23
Salvation
We believe in the gift of salvation for whilst it is sin that separated us from God, it is His love and kindness that saved and rescued us. Because of the blood of Jesus Christ shed on the cross, we can now freely receive forgiveness for our sins and be reconciled back to God. This comes through the repentance of our sins, believing in the Lord Jesus as our Saviour, and the submission to His will for our lives.
Ephesians 2:8-9
Living in Christ
We believe our life is to be lived in Christ. To be with Jesus, to become like Jesus and do what Jesus did. We believe there is a leaving behind of our old ways, old mindsets and taking up a new life in Christ. We believe in the power of the Holy Spirit, baptism, and operating in the spiritual gifts He has given us including speaking in tongues. We believe Jesus still heals today.
1 Corinthians 12:4-11
The Church
We believe in the importance and the power of the gathering of the Church as we come together for fellowship, worship and prayer, and the breaking of bread (communion). We believe the Church is God’s plan to reach a lost and hurting world.
Matthew 16:18
